Sony Interactive Entertainment has created one of the most spectacular operations of global editing to celebrate the arrival of the new Playstation5. The project consisted of a chain of light projections across 25 different countries around the world. The initiative stems from the specific intent to virtually connect the Playstation community through unexpected images from well-known places.
Venice, with Piazza San Marco, as a unique and evocative setting to represent Italy in the world, gave a warm welcome to Playstation 5. The famous location was the setting for a floor projection of almost 2.400 square meters, giving life to a visual show that lasted 5 minutes.
Thus, for the first time, the historic pavement used to welcome tourists from all over the world, hosted the language of video games, playing with geometric projections of the unmistakable icons of the brand. The show of lights and projections was captured by 5 cameras to maximize the effect of the projected images, enhancing with style and a particular ‘scenic’ effect, the contrast between an icon of history and architecture such as Piazza San Marco and the visual language of gaming.
